On my way to work one day in late May 1998 I noticed hundreds of orange
flags beside the Stone House at Manassas National Battlefield. I quickly made a call to Bob at Centreville Electronics.
Bob hooked me up with Dr. Matt Reeves the Project Director on contract from the University of Maryland. The Park Service
was going to build a new parking lot for the Stone House and wanted to recover any artifacts by conducting
a metal detector survey. Dr. Reeves had asked for volunteers from the Northern Virginia Relic Hunters Association
I volunteered my son Todd and myself to help with the survey.
